People who wear glasses (like me) may be able to witness an unusual 3-D effect on this page. The red Xs and the yellow Os seem to float in front of the blue and black background. The cause -- I finally figured out -- is not some kind of "magic eye" effect, but only the chromatic aberration from the glasses. Because the red and blue are refracted at different angles, they appear to float in different planes. If you wear glasses, slowly more your head so that you are viewing the page through different parts of the lenses. If your glasses have enough chromatic abberation, you may see the red and blue figures move relative to each other. Then you may see the colors pop out into different planes. I couldn't believe my eyes when I first saw this! Finally, there's something cool about wearing glasses. Your ordinary eyeglasses actually are 3-D glasses! Copyright 1998 Kalle Nemvalts.
